Must-Dos in Nepal

  • Explore the Durbar Squares

It is a generic name for the plazas in front of the ancient royal palaces, the bustle places always with many things to see and do. There are three Durbar squares in and around Kathmandu, Kathmandu Durbar Square with the famous nine-story palace, Patan Durbar Square in red color and the Bhaktapur Durbar Square with a long, long history. Walking in the square, you can see lots of ancient temples, local people selling their beautiful handicrafts, weddings being celebrated, and the living Goddess. The buildings in the squares are also stunning. It is a visual feast to find the pagoda-shaped buildings with their red fabric frills, fantastic carvings and statues.

  • Enjoy the Natural Beauty of Pokhara

There are many things to do in Pokhara, the lake city known for its natural beauty. Take a boat ride on the tranquil, clear waters of Fewa or Begnas Lake while admiring the sacred Varahi Mandir temple, then enjoy a simple picnic or a romantic lakeside dinner as the sun slowly goes down. Take a morning hike to the beautiful Annapurna range and catch the gentle sunrise, or go caving in the interesting Pokhara caves. For something a little more adventurous, head to the Himalayas for a trekking experience or be prepared to leave your mark on a snow-covered peak.

  • Jungle Safari in Chitwan National Park

Located in western Nepal, Chitwan National Park is renowned for its breathtaking safaris and outstanding experiences. You can explore the exhilarating jungle on foot or by jeep in search of animals such as deer, sloth bears, leopards, the endangered one-horned rhinoceros and the Royal Bengal tiger. You can also experience the jungle by canoeing down its rivers. From the river, you can see rare fish-eating gharial crocodiles and a variety of birds. At dusk, you can walk with the elephants or watch them play in the river.

  • Catch the Sun over Himalayas Mountains
Sarangkot is a hilly area in Pokhara that offers one of the most incredible views of the Annapurna Himalayan peaks and a beautiful sunrise over the Himalayas. You can visit Sarangkot at any time of the day to catch the beautiful natural scenery. But the most remarkable time is at dawn, when the pink hues of the mountain range are bathed in the glorious sunlight. Standing at the top of Sarangkot to watch the spectacular sunrise and the golden Himalayas makes the trip unforgettable. If you are not an early riser, it is also good to catch the dusk with the cozy orange color of the mountain and snow.
  • Trekking through Kathmandu Valley
The city of Kathmandu is surrounded by mountains and it is very suitable for nature lovers who have a short time to experience the mountain views. Start from the vibrant foothills with rural villages and locals, then up the gentle slope along the winding path are some Buddhist stupas to stop by. Climbing to the tops of the hills, you can admire the whole view of the valley, with beautiful terraced farms in different colors depending on the season. It is also a good idea to start the trek a little later in the day so that you can enjoy the stunning scenery at your own pace and watch the sunset over the Himalayas.
