About This Trip
For those who would like to have more fun in Sri Lanka, this 9-day schedule is ideal. Colombo, a stunning city encircled by white sand beaches, will serve as the starting point of your tour. Then you'll go to Nuwara Eliya, a town in central Sri Lanka's misty highlands, where you'll tour some tea fields and factories and learn why Sri Lanka is also an island made for tea. Take a detour to see the Polonnaruwa Archaeological Sites before traveling to Yala for a jeep safari to seek for wild leopards and other animals. Then you can enjoy the tour's biggest high point: Mirissa's whale-watching! A tour of Colombo's top attractions brings the trip to a close.

Day 1: International Arrival, Colombo
Welcome to Sri Lanka! When arriving at the airport, you will be greeted by Odynovo chauffeur guide and escorted to the hotel for a good rest.
Note: It is unwise to say or do anything disrespectful to Buddha in Sri Lanka. Inappropriate act may cause deportation or denial of entry.

Day 2: Colombo - Nuwara Eliya (By Car, Approx. 5.5-6Hrs, 180Km)
In the morning, head for Nuwara Eliya. On the way, you can opt to either take a coconut break or stop for a short visit to a local village.
Note:
1. Driving time is subject to traffic, weather and road conditions.
2. If you do not like the long drive, it is highly recommended to take an optional exclusively chartered air taxi which takes only 25 minutes from Colombo to Nuwara Eliya.- B

Day 3: Nuwara Eliya Sightseeing
Nuwara Eliya is famous for its delightful teas grown at the foot of Sri Lanka's highest mountain. Today you will take a leisure visit to a local tea factory, where you will also have a chance to experience tea plucking.

Day 4: Nuwara Eliya - Thanamlwila Village - Tissamaharama (By Car, Approx. 4-4.5Hrs)
After breakfast, leave for Thanamlwila Village to observe genuine Sri Lankan rural life including fishing, wood carving, farming and the like. You will be able to go trekking through paddy fields and canoeing on the lake. Later, drive to Tissamaharama for overnight stay.

Day 5: Tissamaharama - Yala National Park - Tissamaharama
After your morning leisure time, go exploring at Yala National Park by jeep. The safari usually takes 4 to 5 hours depending on weather and your own interest. It's very likely to spot leopards and other wildlife like sloth bear and Asian elephant during the wild game.

Day 6: Tissamaharama - Mirissa (By Car, Approx. 3Hrs, 100 Kms)
This morning, check out and proceed to Mirissa, a quickly developing crescent of beach located in the Southern tip of Sri Lanka. Here you can indulge yourself in some of the finest beaches with the company of the most charming sunrise & sunset.

Day 7: Mirissa, Whale Watching (3-5Hrs)
Get up in the early morning and arrive at Mirissa Habour at 6:30 AM, when the sun rises and whales start to emerge from beneath the sea. It's a ninety percent chance of seeing whales if coming in the right season from November to April next year.

Day 9: Mirissa - Colombo (By Car, Approx. 2.5-3h, 155km), Departure
After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Colombo. Upon arrival, take a city tour to see the Independence Square, Gangarama Temple of Colombo, Galle Face Green Park and Colombo's National Museum, etc. Stop for taking pictures when driving by the former British Administrative Center and more. Bid farewell to Sri Lanka in the afternoon and catch your return flight.
