International Visitor Information Centre to be Built in Lumbini
According to the report, an international visitor information center will be built in Lumbini, the birthplace of Sakyamuni in Nepal.
Lumbini, located 280km from Kathmandu on the border with India, is one of the most-visited tourist destinations in Nepal. It is a Buddhist pilgrimage site for being widely regarded as the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha. In the year 1997, it was named World Heritage Site. If you travel here, you can learn about Buddha's life and the development of Buddhism.
Funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the building will be finished within two and half years. Tourists will have a proper supply of drinking water, drainage, sanitation and waste management. Meanwhile, Gautam Buddha Airport will be upgraded to an international level under the same project. This action will certainly benefit to tourists and local tourism.
