India Enters Peak Tourist Season
As the weather cools down, India enters its high tourist season which lasts from October through March (to be more exact, from November to mid-February). During this period, the climate in most of the country is delightful without the hotness of summer and humidity of monsoon season (from June to September). Meanwhile, there are lots of festivals and special events celebrated in these months.
The major tourist destinations in India include the golden triangle of Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur, the spiritual center of Varanasi in North India and the backwater-crisscrossed Kerala in South India. India generally has a tropical climate and climatic conditions in the far north are distinctly different to those of the extreme south. However, from October to March, temperatures in these areas are generally pleasant and range from 25 to 10 Celsius degrees during the daytime, making it a prime time for sightseeing. Of course, if you want to trek the Himalayas, summer can be a good time with cold relief in the hilly areas.
