Bhutan's Taishi Air to Launch the First International Flight
From October 2013, Bhutan's private carrier Bhutan Airways (also known as Tashi Air) will operate the first international flight serving Paro - Kolkata - Bangkok Suvarnabhumi via a new Airbus A320-200.
When the international operation commences, flights between Paro and Bangkok, via Kolkata will be available daily. Meanwhile, the airfare will be cheaper than Druk Air. The Kolkata/Bangkok service launched by Taishi Air will certainly make it easier for tourists to get to Bhutan. We hope more and more travelers will come to explore this remote, mysterious Himalayan kingdom!
Tips:
By far, the most convenient way to get into Bhutan is by Druk Air, the country's national (and so far the only) carrier. You can connect your flight to Druk Air flights at any of the following cities: Kolkata, Delhi, and Gaya in India; Kathmandu in Nepal; Bangkok in Thailand; Dhaka in Bangladesh.
