Recommended Hotels Near Chitwan National Park

With lots of wild jungle activities to experience, Chitwan National Park is high on the list of travelers to Nepal.

But before heading to the park, there are two things you need to know about. 

Firstly, there are no hotels or lodges operating inside the park. Most travelers would stay outside the park in Megauli and arrange jungle activities from there. 

Secondly, there is a lack of middle affordable accommodation. The choice is largely limited to hostels or five-star resorts at a painful price, most of which offer a package including jungle activities but do not provide slippers and washing tools.

Fortunately, we have done the legwork for you and selected a few good hotels near the park that suit the different budgets. 

1. Barahi Jungle Lodge (5 stars)

Address: Magauli, Chitwan National Park, Nepal

Reasons to recommend: All mentioned below 

Offering an outdoor pool, a spa, and a gym, this is the most luxurious hotel in the area. It is located on the banks of the Rapti River, 3 km away from Chitwan National Park and 32 km away from Bharatpur Domestic Airport. It's slightly away from the town of Sauraha, which means more quietness.

Newly renovated, it meets the standard of travelers looking for a 5-star comfortable stay, from amenities to services. There are a total of 35 deluxe rooms built as individual or two-in-one villas, including one suite with a private swimming pool and complimentary wine cabinet. An electronic cart service is available to transfer guests between the reception and rooms.

2. Kasara Jungle Resort (4.5-5 stars)

Address: Patihani Road, Chitwan National Park, Nepal

Reasons to recommend: distinctive design, complete amenities, good location, great service

This is a local 5-star hotel in Nepal standard. With a total of 40 rooms (35 are villas, 2 are VIP suits with private swimming pool and kitchen), the resort is well appointed with a swimming pool, spa center, meditation rooms, and other amenities. The concept of the resort is "close to nature'', so all rooms are villa-style - simple but made to remind you that you are there to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. A special mention goes to the bathrooms that are partially in the open - they may not help to keep away from mosquitos.

Kasara Jungle Resort

3. Jungle Villa Resort (3.5-4 stars)

Address: Paitihani-2, Chitwan National Park, Nepal

Reasons to recommend: great price, amazing location, great service

Jungle Villa Resort is ideally located by the bank of Rapti River with a mature garden just beside the Chitwan National Park. All rooms are large, comfortable, and spotlessly clean, offering a garden view. The staff is courteous, accommodating, and very knowledgeable. Given that there is a lack of middle affordable accommodation in Chitwan, this can be used as a four-star hotel though you need to lower your expectations.

Jungle Villa Resort

4.  Tigerland Safari Resort  (3 stars)

Address: Jagatpur, Chitwan National Park, Nepal

Main reasons to recommend: great service, convenient location for jungle activities

Opened in 2008 and refurbished in 2012, the Tigerland Safari Resort is nestled in a lush riverine forest, only 4 km from the popular Chitwan National Park. From there, it is very convenient to arrange jungle activities. The standalone wooden rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. There is also a garden and a bar attached to the resort. The staff are very polite and helpful, as is the case in most hotels of Nepal.
